a little oil lamp will destroy total darkness
Diwali, è una delle più importanti feste induiste, che si festeggia nel mese di ottobre o novembre. Simboleggia la vittoria del bene sul male ed è chiamata "festa delle luci", durante la festa si usa infatti accendere delle candele. La più popolare leggenda associata alla festa è quella che tratta del ritorno del re Rama della città di Ayodhya dopo 14 anni di esilio in una foresta. Il popolo della città al ritorno del re accese file (avali) di lampade (dipa) in suo onore, da qui il nome Dipawali o più semplicemente Diwali.
All the world rejoiced. The reign of the demons was over and Rama and Sita returned to their own country to rule. In celebration, the gods showered flowers from the sky, and the people lined the streets with flags and garlands. In every home, an oil lamp was put in the window to welcome back the Rama and Sita and their great army. The royal ruled happily for many years until it was time for them to leave their life on earth and return to heaven.
For Hindus, this story shows how good will always triumph over evil in the same way as a little oil lamp will destroy total darkness.

rinascita
...è da quel grande fegato che ti ci vuole per guardarti così, scomposta in mille coriandoli, che ricomincerai.
...più delle albe, più del sole, una donna in rinascita è la più grande meraviglia, per chi la incontra e per sé stessa.
E' la primavera a novembre, quando meno te l'aspetti.
